Tennis Equipment – Replacement Tape

Tuesday, June 30, 2009
posted by Rdgventure 1:49 PM

It is very important to have your tennis racquet grip with tape so that the racquet will not slip from your hand while you are attempting a forehand or backhand stroke.  If your racquet has lost it’s cushion, it is important to replace it.  The overgrip on your racqet is to give more cushion to your grip.  It was never so apparent to me the importance of having a good grip, when recently I had to play a set of tennis with my spare racquet.  My regular racquet is being restrung, so that left me with my spare.  Unfortunately for me, the grip on the racquet was not adequate and I was not able to control my racquet

Each shot in tennis requires a range of grips that you can use.  If my racquet had been gripped properly, I would have been able to hold the racquet and swing up to the tennis ball.  I hope that you will learn by my mistake and when you go shopping for tennis equipment that you will include some replacement tape.

Tennis Instruction: The Serve

Monday, June 22, 2009
posted by Rdgventure 11:11 AM

roger-federerThe serve is probably the most important stroke in tennis.  It is considered to be the easiest stroke to practice because there is no need for a partner.  My instructor stresses that we practice our serve every week.  He advises us to hit at least a hundred balls.  I really feel that this is sound advice because so often in a match, the winning point usually comes after a good serve.

What is considered a good serve?  A good serve is when the ball lands on the cross court service box.  If it lands outside the service box, it is a fault.  If two faults of any kind are given in a point it is a double fault.  A foot fault is when the server’s foot touches the baseline or center line before the ball is hit.  A service let is called when the server hits the net cord and the ball still lands in the service court.  I think it is imperative that if you want to develop any aspect of your game, you have to practice.  You should first get tennis instructions to learn how to do it correctly.

Men’s Tennis Shoes – Proper Footwear

What is the proper footwear for tennis?  Well, it really depends on the individual and the amount of playing time.  I averaged playing about two to three times a week and a good pair of tennis shoes usually lasts about five to six months.   One of the top brands of tennis is Adidas.

Adidas sponsors the following professional players:  Marat Safin, Dinara Safina,  Ana Ivanovic, Fernando Verdasco, Novak Djokovic, Gilles Simon, Marcos Bagdatis and doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan.  Whatever your choice of tennis shoes, it is important to pick out a shoe that is comfortable and remember just like Adidas slogan, “Impossible is Nothing”.  If you are looking for a nice selection of men’s tennis shoes women’s tennis footwear or kid’s footwear, we have a variety of footwear to offer to you

tennisvideoTennis is truly a game of finesse and skill. Perfecting your serve can be particularly difficult, as you have to walk the link between power and control. Just trying to figure it out on their own, it can take people years to strike this balance. That’s why so many people seek out additional help and pointers in order to speed that process along. For some people, it means getting a tennis tutor.

But with money tight right now, it’s unrealistic for many people to get these kinds of pricey tutors. That’s why so many people choose to invest in tennis videos. By studying these instructional DVDs, people can learn some of the helpful pointers that will greatly expedite their success in the world of tennis.

How To Play Tennis

Tennis is a game that requires tennis instruction if you want your game to improve.  I have been taking lessons for years and I feel that it has done wonders for my game.  When I started playing, I did not understand the basics of tennis.  I thought I could learn by watching other people play, but I didn’t have any idea of how to hit a forehand, backhand or volley.  It was only after taking a few lessons that I learned that I needed someone to teach me the correct way to play.

If you would like to learn how to play correctly.  I recommend that you take instruction first.  Mr. Tomaz Mencinger has put together a series of video clips that will give the beginner player the information needed to start playing tennis immediately.  If you enjoy playing tennis, tennis instruction will definitely improve your game and make it better.
