Inside Out Forehand
A great weapon to have on the tennis court is the inside-out forehand. You should try to include this stroke in your tennis instructions. According to Nick Bollettieri the forehand stroke is one stroke that has changed dramatically. The tennis court in the past was divided in half and everything to the right of the center line was a forehand (if you were right handed), everything to the left was a backhand. My definition of the Insid-Out-Forehand is choosing your forehand instead of your backhand to return a shot. It is commonly called running around your backhand. Be advised that this shot can only be performed if you have time to do it. When you see a ball coming to your backhand, you have to immediately move into position and hit a forehand shot.
If your forehand is your best shot, you have to learn how to dominate your opponents with it, the key in developing any stroke is to practice. If you have ever had the experience of watching Jim Courier play, you had the pleasure of watching one of the best forehands in tennis. His use of the Inside-Out-Forehand was exquisite and catapulted him to win four Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
Bend Your Knees for More Power
A good tip to help you concentrate on the tennis court is to remind yourself from time to time to bend your knees.
(1) Bending your knees helps keep the strings aligned with the flight path of the ball longer. It increases your liklihood of making solid contact.
(2) When you bend your knees, it allows you to hit with more power. It allows your body to be in better position to produce trunk, hip, and shoulder rotation.
(3) Because your body is closer to the ground, it allows for better balance because your center of gravity is lower therefore giving you more control and allowing to recover more efficiently.
(4) The final reason for bending your knees is that it will help you cover the court better because your body will be able to spring into action for the next ball.

Tennis Instruction: The Serve
The serve in my opinion is the most important stroke in tennis and the easiest one to practice on your own.
Tennis Instruction at the NTC
The summer outdoor season is drawing to a close in some areas of the country. I hate to see the summer go because playing outdoors can be challenging because of the elements. The U.S. Open is starting this Monday, August 31, 2009 and the main draws have been set in place. Dinara Safina and Roger Federer are the top seeds in the tournament. It is always a great tournament to watch.
The world’s greatest professional tennis players will be showcasing their talents at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. However, even though the recreational players will not be able to use the facility during the tournament, they will have plenty of time to take tennis instruction at the facility. Just imagine being me to play and take instructions on the very same court thay your idols played on.

Best Sports for Fitness
Let’s face it, playing a sport is a heck of a lot more fun than running on a treadmill. In fact, sports can be a great way to lose weight and get in better shape. There are some sports that tend to be more active than others. Soccer is a sport where just about everyone is constantly moving around, and thus, soccer is one of the best sports for fitness. Unfortunately, getting together a soccer game can be a little bit difficult, as it requires at least ten players, five on each side, to be fun and not too tedious with the amount of running around. Tennis is another great option for people who want to get in shape. Even tennis training requires a lot of movement, and as a whole, tennis can improve reflexes, arm strength, and burn calories at a rampant pace. Basketball is another great way to burn calories, but it’s important to play one on one, and avoid games like HORSE that just involve shooting.
When it comes to exercise, just about any activity that involves a lot of footwork and moving around is one that will burn calories. In fact, plain running is one of the most effective fitness activities on the planet, but it can be a little boring!
